Rockin' October at Bok Tower Gardens this coming weekend !

This coming weekend is one of our favorite events to do, celebrating Rockin' October at Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, FL.

This shows draws a huge crowd from all over Florida and even southeast Georgia, to enjoy these beautiful gardens and check out all the great plant vendors there.

The best thing about this show is that it is Free Admittance (saves you a bundle) ! It has turned into a 2 day show the last couple of years to handle the multitudes, along with a special Friday evening special first-see viewing and purchasing for members.

An easy one-day trip over to this area from our home base of  Pinellas County, you will enjoy the rolling hills and change of scenery from our usual flat landscape. There will be a ton of things to do..the garden plant event vendor area, live music, food, tons of great kid stuff, strolling in the gardens to the top of the plain where the tower is, where you can see for hundreds of miles around.

Last year was the first year that Susan and I had the time to stroll the gardens between setting up, and these huge lily pads were amazing.

Annie took the time to feed some very large and very friendly Koi Fish by the tower base.

yes,..and can you believe it? I was wearing a jacket ! Yes, cooler times are a-coming.

One of the most special plants in the gardens is the Blue Gingers all around - something you don't see very often, and Mitch says he has found a secret source for them..shhhh...maybe we will have some for sale !

We love setting up at this event as the organizers give everyone plenty room to show and sell their wares.

Some of our favorite plant nursery and garden art friends will be there, such as Central Florida Ferns, Tropiflora Nursery, the Schrameks of Its Our Nature, our good friend Clayton with his gorgeous hand made copper sprinklers, Raraflora and many more.  There will be tons of great Fall and Winter perennials, bushes, herbs, butterfly friendly plants, orchids, bromeliads and so much more !

We hope you can make it over there for this wonderful event, we promise it will be well worth the time and driving.

This year they have drastically improved on getting cars in, and parked and getting the multitude of crowds in and out.
