Tropiflora Show Recap !

We had a great time at the Tropiflora Nursery Spring Plant show this past weekend ! Beautiful weather after a roaring storm made everyone feel especially grateful for a fresh 3 days of great plant selling. Twice a year, Linda and Dennis Cathcart of Tropiflora hold a huge plant sale for their own stock, and invite close plant pals to set up too. Their nursery itself is amazing and want to share some pics with you....

Our "hosts" Dennis & Linda !

The Bromeliad garden with a gorgeous piece of driftwood outside the nursery office. Besides plants, Dennis has an amazing collection of driftwood for sale and each one is so unique...

The shot into their main showroom greenhouse shows you just a small part of the great Bromeliads, Orchid and Succulent offerings..

The large sign at the entrance to the property welcoming customers, who starting lining up an hour before the show each day!

Armstrong Nursery arriving at the show..courtesy of our beloved Rickie's old Truck. That truck got us around safely through the previous day of storms because of our guardian angel..

A customer's cart full of large Bromeliads from Tropiflora, making a stop next to our Wollemi Pines to check them out...

New vendors, these guys brought an interesting assortment of antique garden art and sculpture and their booth was very popular !

This is taken from our booth looking out towards the front of the nursery..we had a great shady area in the back...notice the large stand of bamboo in the background...it reaches about 50 ft tall at least and is very old..

In the foreground, is some of our double White Daturas, next to the Hollyhocks, Bananas and Yellow Elder

Our " Main Man" Larry Sousa, who has been such a big help to us this whole Spring season, along with his wife Susan. He always has a smile on his face and has incredible energy for everything !

Larry, Susan and Mitch resting at one of their favorite places in the world..the porch of Cracker Barrel

Adding a few pics belatedly from our Leu Gardens Show in Orlando a few weeks ago!

This is our "Aurora" our special East Coast Angel, that travels to help us out at several shows each year...here she is with a cart full of plants she got from the Leu Garden Sale...

The Leu Garden Sales gals !

Annie, Aurora and Susan

And last, but not least, this is a shot of what was left at the Leu Sale..we almost sold out! pretty unheard of...I think we only came home with about 12 plants !

Well, off to get ready for shows, hope to see everyone at the market or upcoming shows..don't forget, Green Thumb Festival in St. Pete is coming the end of this month !!
