Happenings & Events for this week Feb. 11-14th

Brrrr...temps dropping again this week again, but our schedule will only be slightly altered....

Thurs, Feb. 11th, we will NOT be at Safety Harbor Mkt. Thurs. is suppose to be the coldest morning so going to keep our plants all safe and warm at the nursery.

Sat. Feb. 13th We ARE scheduled for Saturday Morning Market, St. Pete, and hopefully will have a lot less wind then last weekend! Don't forget to stop on by and see some of our special V-Day plants that would make a great gift....as they say, a plant is truly the gift that keeps on giving ! Give Give Give !!

Sun. Feb. 14th, right now, we ARE tentatively scheduled for Tarpon Springs Market, but keeping an eye on the weather to see if we may have to pull out for it. Hopefully we will be there as Sunday is Valentines Day and a perfect day to purchase a special V-Day plant for your favorite sweetie!

And, also this weekend, we return to beautiful Anna Maria Island, for the late winter Arts & Craft Fest that also features our plant booth. The show runs on Sat. from 10am-5pm and Sunday 10am-4pm. We love Anna Maria folks and they have always been very supportive to us. We look forward to seeing friends that we have made down there. "Google" Anna Maria Island events for this weekend to get directions..its an EZ drive from Pinellas and Manatee counties.

Oh, a few words about last weekend ! Saturday and Sunday at all events was a great challenge with the gusting winds but we were heartened by the crowd turn out , so, many thanks to folks that come out to support all of us and thanks to the many that help us pick up plants falling over in our booths!

Also, last weekend, we were at Gamble Mansion down in Palmetto..many folks came on out for the free tour of the mansion, and to check out the arts & craft vendors and our plant booth. They also had a lovely couple from Ohio that brought their "magic train" which was a modified tram, and they set up a fun little course around the property. It was fun to watch and hear the gleeful laughs of the many kids (and a few adults) as they circled our booth all day long. The only downside was Sunday when the temps continued to drop and we shivered through the day but again, we were lucky to have a good turn-out who loved our Bougainvillea and other plants. Have to say, was never so happy as to get home that night into our warm house, out of the elements and Mitch totally spoiled me by running hot foot bath and surrounding me with a dryer-warmed up blanket...what a great guy! Hmmm....guess I better get thinking about a V-day gift for him !

Finally, many of you have been asking for a listing of plants currently offered, and we are working on that, so that we can send out weekly emails about availability. We know many of you are reticent about buying plants right now but since we sell plants in 1 and 3 gallon sizes, they are easy to protect from elements. Also, please note that many of the plants that we currently have, may not be available later...reason being, due to the recent cold spell, our supply is limited, as well, as the supply and inventory of the other small nursery people that we buy special plants from. So...if you see something you like, get it NOW before it is gone !! We, as well as many growers, are busy working on getting our inventory up, but with the recent weather, it is a slower process than usual.

Closing, we are most thankful to all our customers who continue to come out and support us during these hard times, so special Valentine Wishes go out to all of you !
