In celebration of the upcoming Mother's Day celebration, we even have some beautiful Phalaenopsis Orchids available. We love orchids, because their blooms last a very long time, and they are EZ care for home and garden.
We selected small specimens so they are easy to keep on table-top, window sills (and even bathrooms) and they can be a gorgeous little addition to table centerpieces.
Another great Gift Idea is our Mini Plant package. You all know we are known for our great Mini plant selection and we have some pretty little things that will be great, on their own in your home, as table-tops or on a sunny windowsill.
The Succulent package includes Haworthias and Echevarias
The Cactus Package includes many of the popular ones, such as Bunny Ears, Lifesaver plant, and Lady Fingers.

Pitcher Plant "Alata" The original "I Eat Bugs" plant !
One of our most popular plants at our markets for years, these unusual tropicals have "pitchers" that send out a hormone that attracts skeeters, flies etc and they fall in and are trapped inside the pitchers and digested there.
Great for patios and areas where you are sitting out and want to battle the Skeeter element of the summer !
Bright shade, and just water with spray hose once a week. You do not have to repot anytime soon, it does not care if it is root bound and will continue to sprout out new foilage and pitchers from the top.

One of our most popular plants is the
Chinese Lantern Hibiscus. Also known as "flowering maple", it is grown as a small shrub or tree. It produces a small orange with red veined flower that hangs like a "lantern". They can be planted in-ground or containers.
They love sun and pretty much bloom all year long.
$ 20
These are about 4 ft high..and you can trim, to create bushiness.
Our Pink-flowering Chinese Lantern is in shrub form now and all full of buds.
Mitch is standing here below, with 2 of our most popular vines - The "Purple Possem" Passion fruit vine (on left) and the Dutchman Pipe vine on the right. The possem will produce tons of fruit once it gets established and growing. It needs a fence or arbor etc to support its vining growth. It can take full or 1/2 day sun. The fruit will be "ready" when they turn a mauve color and are just about to, or do, fall off the vine. Many people eat them as is, and some love them in juicing.
The Dutchman Pipe Vine produces a wild like flower- it looks like a "pipe" when first forming, then opens up into reddish-brown oval bloom. The Pipe vine is an excellent host plant for Swallowtail butterflies to lay their eggs on. The eggs turn into a chunky reddish orange caterpillar. Now, these cats will be hungry and they will much on the leaves - that's okay-that's Mother Nature ! When they have had their fill, they will look for a hiding place in which to cocoon, which will then produce another butterfly - and the circle continues. Don't worry, with steady care of fertilizer and watering, your vine will put out new leaves. This vine also needs a fence or good support for it's growth and can take sun or shade.
$20
$20
Pipe Vine and Purple Possem Passion
Fruit vines (above)
$ 20
The maroon flower of the Lady Margaret Passion vine here to the left, is gorgeous, and this vine is a great host for Butterflies. She loves sun and blooms nearly all year round. Rarely does she get eaten up by caterpillars but they are known to munch a few holes in them, but it won't hurt !
As you can see from the pic below, Giant Milkweed looks much different than the tropical or native milkweed. She produces a soft purple flower that provides nectar to butterflies, she serves a host for Monarch butterflies and she can be used as a food source, though her leaves are so large, that she rarely gets completely defoliated. She can grow 3-4 ft or sometimes even taller, and loves sun. Once she is settled in and rooted, she is heat and cold hardy - winters might seem some die back, but she will return.
The Passion Vine "incense" has a truly magnificent flower with frilly edges and the flowers smells quite sumptious. Used as a host plant for butterflies, she is is known for her hardiness of growth. Depending on the type of winter we have, she may go dormant for a while in cool weather, but will spring back right up as soon as warmth returns. (currently sold out)
$20
One of Annie's favorite plants, the "popcorn cassia" is wonder of a plant. First, the yellow blooms are gorgeous and the yellow sulpher butterflies love coming to her for nectar.
But the truly unique quality is the leaves..when you lightly stroke them, it produces the small of fresh buttered popcorn - you will think you are in a movie theater !
She can grow quite leggy and sprawly, but you can easily prune her back or to the shape you want. Extremely, hardy, she love full sun but will tolerate light shade.
She is deer resistant and pretty much pest free. She will continue to bloom heavy from Spring into late Fall.

Bleeding heart Vine
One of the hardiest vines around, Bleeding Heart will bloom in sun or shade. Blooming most of the year, she does develop a thick stem. She needs something to grow on, and you need to "attach" her to the support to get her going in the right direction. The common type you see is white colored with a red center. As you can see from this hybrid, she is the rare purple in a garden, with red accents.
Pink flowering Chinese Lantern Hibiscus $15
"Epies" as we like to call them, are one of Mitch's favorite plants ! Known for it's hardiness and ease of care, they put out spectacular tall flower stems that the bees and butterflies love. Typically called "ground orchids", they will thrive in-ground, or in a tall pot. All they want is sun sun sun and very little water. The specimens here that Mitch is holding are "tied up" around the top when we carry or load them to protect them. You can plant, and leave tied up, or you can cut the ties, and the stems will fall splay out like water fountain. The orange flowering type is the most common, but we also carry the Red-flowering type which is rare.

Epidendrum orchid-3 gal
Quite hardy, Epies can last years, and you can take cuttings from the white roots from it's base and along the leaf stems to share with others.

( currently Sold Out ) Tropical Morning Glories just bring a smile to everyone's faces...With a delicate foilage and large flowers, it loves to climb on fences and trees etc....Her growth is more of a "lacy" effect, then a thick foilage. The only time she struggles a bit, is during a very rainy summer,, when she reacts with yellow leaves...don't remiss, she will be fine and refoliate - just give her a good trimming !
This "Fiesta" Hibiscus is a stunner...a new hybrid that came out a few years back, she is dark red in the center, then goes to orange, then to yellow on her edges. The bloom is quite large. Treat her like any hibiscus - give her sun and food, and we recommend spraying the foilage with a garden hose every couple of weeks to keep the critters away.
(Note: out of Stock until May)
Another one of Annie's fav plants, is the Big leaf Tibouchina - she has large velvety leaves and produces a spectacular flower from late spring into deep winter. She looks the best in bright shade or morning sun so her leaves don't burn. The tall bloom spikes last for week and weeks. She likes to be "on the dry side", so can take water, but doesn't like "wet feet" all the time. She can get sprawly as she matures, and lose her lower leaves - I like to cut her back, after the blooming cycle, to keep her more tall shrub-like. $30
This is what the bloom looks like !
Medinella myriantha - This shade lover produces an incredible pink bloom, that starts off small and dark pink, then grows larger to a light pink. The blooming period takes a long time so you have lots of time to enjoy. Soon to bloom $ 20
Medinella regori hambali is rare and quite unique as it blooms on it's stem ! $30

Curly Locks cactus in Hanging Basket - A super hardy soft cactus, it spirals and twists and turns, producing a white flower and a deep pink fruit on it's end. Loving bright shade and being kept on the dry side.
We have these in hanging baskets.

Who doesn't love Staghorn Ferns? We've all seen them hanging under trees, growing quite large (they are slow growing and it takes years to get that way !) Guess what they love for food ? Banana peels ! We have them in 6 inch pots and they are looking for a nook in a tree or a hanging basket to start thriving. $12
Desert Rose-Red/Pink starters 4 inch $6
These are just babies but put them in a bigger pot, or up on a mound of soil in a dry area, they grow quite spectacular. As they mature, they produce multiples of white flowers. Madagascar Palm starters-4 inch $7
Haworthias are one of the toughest in the succulent world. With it's striped foilage, it will grow and produce pups around it. These minis love bright shade, so put them on a windowsill, or add them to a succulent arrangement or container. $3
Euphorbia Lactea - also know sometimes as "ghost cactus" for its coloring, it can be pure white, or have green striations in it. They can grow every which way, but that's what makes them unique.
(Note: only cuttings available currently) $ 5 per cutting
Mitch loves his "Hairy Cactus" 3 gal $40
Euphorbia lactea - 3 gal
Euphorbia lactea-see how this one suddenly produced a varigated stem ?! $40
Another of Mitch's favs - Kalenchoe baharensis - the rusty colored edges on the stiff leaves is quite unique. In the sunlight, it really makes a statement.
Okay, so this may be an "ouchie", but the Euphorbia stenoclada's gray foilage is to be admired. $40
Another "ouchie" but put in the right place, this Agave lophanta is quite the stunner with its varigation. The plants we have are in 1 gallon pots, putting babies out and they are stretched out 6-8 inches from the pot edge - they are ready for a new home in a hot dry place !
Spider Lilys run the gamut on colors and shapes and sizes and this one is quite rare. The leaves of the plant are quite thick and sturdy and the flower lasts for months. $20
Spider Lily cuttings $ 20 12" cutting
Yes, this is a Desert Rose Tree ! Quite old and spectacular. She is blooming her heart out, and needs a good home with plenty of sun and good drainage. She is truly a showstopper !! $ 175
