Springing into the month of May !

Whew, we survived Green Thumb Festival last weekend and it was one of the best in years. We are grateful for the thousands (they estimate total attendance somewhere around 25, 000 people) who came to the festival and we think most of them came through our booth at one time or another!  With 9 people working our booth and thousands of plants stuffed into our borders, with constant restocking, we were truly overwhelmed at times, especially Saturday Morning.

Thanks to all our great friends and family who came to help us - Susan and Larry Sousa, Ginger, Jeremy and myself working the sales, Jenny on Check out, granddaughter Kortney running the holding area to protect all the precious purchases and keep them straight, Nick doing the restocking and of course, the big boss, our Mitch, who oversaw everything.

With all that, we were still not able to get everything into the booth area and we still have tons of great plants ready to roll for Saturday Morning Market this weekend. We are stocked back up on our popular Passion Vines, perennials and Exotics.  This weekend is Derby weekend, and we have gorgeous Mint available to help you celebrate the day.

The month of May is still a great time to get things into your garden to get established for the summer, and, if you are looking for great porch and house plants, we have beautiful Calathea, Anthuriums, Succulents and Caladiums.

Butterfly gardening enthusiasts looking for great host, nectar and feeder plants are one of our specialties, and the let's not forget the Bees, who are so important in gardening. The Bees especially love our sweet Almond plant, which is not only Bee friendly, but incredibly aromatic, produces white blooms most of the year and is heat and cold hardy.  Our passion vines stock includes the Lady Margaret, Alata Cerulla, Purple Possem edulis and we still have the native May Pop, a gorgeous aromatic frilly purple flower.

With hot sunny weather happening for the next 6 months, you can't beat Bougainvillea, and this time of year.

Wanting some spice in your life? We have hot peppers, not only great for cooking and eating, but they love hot sunny weather and will continue to produce all summer.

These are just a few of our offerings right now, so we hope you come on out for the Saturday Morning market and visit us.  Note, the regular Market at Al Lang Field continues to operate till the end of May, then come June, a smaller version of the market moves to Williams Park, just a few blocks away and us, along with a lot of your favorite vendors, will be available all summer.

Note to our schedule: We will be at the market every Saturday except the weekend of May 16th, when we always go down to Punta Gorda for their annual Hibiscus Festival.

Remember, we do not have a retail outlet, our "store" is the market ! But we are available for appointments during the week in St. Pete at private location...feel free to email us for that info!
