Greetings all, it is officially Summer Market time, here's the scoop !
Where: Williams Park, downtown St. Pete
The park is situated between 3rd and 4th streets north, between 1st avenue and 2nd avenue north. There is plenty of parking nearby, along street sides. The market is a safe, tree-lined shady area, where you can stroll around market, get some good eats, visit artisans and enjoy some of your favorite regular Saturday Morning Market vendors.
When: It starts this Saturday ! Yup, no break for the weary, we go right into the start of Summer Market after the ending of the regular Saturday Morning Market at Al Lang Field, which just enjoyed it's 10th season. Summer Market hours are 9am to 1pm. Vendors usually start setting up anywhere from 7:30 to 8:30 in the morning.
Who: Although the Summer Market is smaller in vendor size, there will still be a great selection of your favorite vendors selling Produce, Foods, Arts and Crafts and of course, Armstrong Nursery with their plants ! So, you can still great get produce and veggies, Pastries, Cheese, Spices & Herbs, Mr. I Gottem's yummy BBQ and collards, food to eat there, foods to take home.
How to find us? Our vending spot will at the northeast corner of the Park, which is a great spot for you to not only make your plant purchases, but convenient to the corner to drive up and pick up your plants. Remember, buying a load of plants and don't have room to get the home? We deliver to the downtown, southeast and northeast side of town.
What's New ?!
Last weekend, we had a great turnout for our annual Spring Plant sale at our house, and we still have a lot of of great plant stock heading into Summer. Our Papyrus and Butterfly Wing plants continue to be very popular. We still have gorgeous Perennial Morning Glory, Passion Vines, Hibiscus and lots of hardy perennials. Our succulents have really enjoyed a resurgence as many customers are getting into making rock gardens, trying to cover sandy areas, or making their own crafted potted succulent gardens.
Alas, the Hollyhocks are all gone until next Fall, but we have some beautiful dark pink Cone flowers that will give you great long lasting color all summer. Looking for groundcover? We are restocked back up on Ground Mimosa and Sun Beach Daisy.
Next week, we will also be restocked back up on our popular Tillandsias (air plants), along with unique Asian seashells you can plant them into.
As always, we want to remind everyone that we are available during the summer, outside of Market hours. Looking for a particular plant, or just want to see what we have? Give us a call, or send an email and we can set up an appointment.
All for now, hope to see you at the Park
this Saturday as we celebrate opening
day of Summer Market of 2013 !
