January 28th Weekend Update

Please note: From our previous entry, Thrill Hill Market on Sunday, Jan. 29th, has been cancelled due to rainy forecast and is rescheduled for Sunday, Feb. 12th.

Thankfully, this Saturday, Jan. 28th is suppose to be gorgeous, a little cool, but no rain expected and we are anticipating a great market day for both downtown St. Pete Market and Pierce Street Market in Clearwater.

At the St. Pete Market this week, we have hundreds of fresh new Mini Succulents and Cacti, gorgeous Central and South American Air Plants, luscious tropicals for house and garden and much more.

Two of our favorite butterfly/bee plants are the "Sweet Almond" and the "Panama Rose", and we have some of the most beautiful 1 gallon starter plants that we have ever had.

The Sweet Almond bush is a favorite for butterflies and especially bees.  It flowers all year long ! Named for the light almond scent of its blooms, it is extremely hardy in heat or cold.

Very drought tolerant once established, it is a very easy busy to maintain in the garden. You can keep it as a small bush, or grow it into a tree-form by occasionally cutting the lower underbrush.

Panama Rose bush looks very similar to the common Penta flower bush you see, but is even hardier.

Blooming all year, it provides nectar and hosting areas for butterflies and can take full blasting sun all year long.  Will do just fine in 1/2 day sun too.

Extremely drought tolerant too, as well as heat and cold hardy.

For further Butterfly enjoyment for your gardens, we always have Passion Flower vines, including the Purple Possem which produces edible fruit.

At Pierce Street Market in Clearwater, Annie will be there with hundreds of fresh assortment of Mini Succulents, Cacti and Mini Tropicals. And, being near a beach location, the tourist love our assortment of colorful shells from around the world.
