Winter in Florida can't be beat ! Jan. 24, 2015

Last weekend, we were down at beautiful Ft. Myers Beach and stopped on the way at one of our favorite places in the world, Tropiflora Nursery, in Sarasota.  Walking through their show house, we are always inspired by the Bromeliad and Orchid specimens !

Driftwood is especially nice to mount Bromeliads on and makes a spectacular display in a garden.

What we love about Bromeliads is that their blooms last an incredibly long time for the most part, and the colors, textures and details are show stoppers.

This is just one of the spectacular Orchid blooms hanging in the display house.

These "Bulbosa" Tillandsias hanging from Urchin shells gives the impression of a sea of jellyfish floating through the house.

This Saturday, Jan. 24, we are back at Saturday Morning Market, downtown St. Pete for the market day 9am-2pm.  We especially love this time of year at market, when the temps and humidity are mild and makes for a great day of being out in the fresh air and sunshine. There's a ton of great things to do around downtown, so visit the Market, grabs some Eats and make a picnic on the soft grass surrounding the stadium and visit other local spots that make our town so special !
