Happenings Week of March 1

Last weekend washouts: Last week, we lost opportunities to be at Safety Harbor and Dunedin Markets because of the weather. Sat. at St Pete Market, us and a few hardy food and produce vendors stuck it out in the rain and cold for 7 hours hoping it would get better any minute..it didn't....... We all started packing up and of course, as soon as our trailers were loaded, the sun came out ..ayiyiyi! Had very little customer activity due to the weather except for a few hardy souls that ventured out for some produce. So many vendors lost a lot of valuable product and time and productivity due such a poor market day and our hearts were all heavy. Luckily, on Sunday, the sun came out and we had a fun day at Tarpon Springs Market.

This week, we already lost the Gulfport Market today due to weather, but are determined to be at Safety Harbor, St. Pete and Tarpon on those regular markets days. Also................

This month starts an exciting time of doing "away events'..the first is this coming weekend, when we will also be setting up at Mixon Fruit Farm, in Bradenton. This is their "Orange Blossom Festival" and promises to be a fun time for all ! Check it all out at their website: www.mixon.com and click on "events". Just a short drive from Pinellas county, there is no parking or admittance charge and they will have tons of fun for all, with tours, arts and crafts, children's activities (even a bungie cord thingie!), live music and great food. We will be the ONLY plant vendor there, and plan to bring out our goodies that we have been protecting carefully over this weather-challenged time !

We still have great Herbs, and finally, our next crop of BASIL is here and available. Also have some pretty Herb Bowls, already planted with 6 herbs to give you a great start on a portable Herb Garden. We still have some of our most popular Peppermint and Spearmint plants that are huge in 6 inch pots. We also have a fresh crop of Bougainvillea, and all of our Passion, Pipe and Morning Glory Vines are sprouting lots of blooms and buds.

The weekend coming is suppose to be beautiful, sunny and warm weather so come on out and support your neighborhood markets and, if you want to do something special, join us at Mixon Fruit Farm.

Lastly, more upcoming events where we will be at, besides our markets:
March 13-14 Ocala Garden fest, Ocala, FL
March 20-21 Leu Gardens, Orlando FL
March 27-28 Univ. of Tampa Garden Fest, Tampa FL
April 24-25 Green Thumb, St. Pete FL

Thanks much for everyone's ongoing support, we need you to help us keep going, and we know you won't let us down !
